Land use on NCR sector maps

Every Park Facing sector map is colour-coded by land use so you can tell residential plots from commercial belts, institutional reservations, and parks at a glance. Here's how to read the legend on a layout plan.

Land-use categories

Residential

Plotted housing and group-housing parcels — the bulk of most sectors. Shown as the base land colour on layout plans.

Commercial

Markets, shopping streets, and commercial belts, usually along main sector roads and corners for footfall.

Institutional

Schools, colleges, hospitals, and government facilities reserved during sector planning.

Parks & green

Neighbourhood parks, green belts, and open spaces. Plots facing these are the classic “park facing” parcels.

Mixed use

Parcels that allow a blend of residential and commercial use, often near transit or arterial roads.

Utilities & roads

Sector roads, electric sub-stations, water works, and other infrastructure reservations.

How to read the legend

Open any sector map and use the land-use legend in the corner. Each colour swatch maps to one category above; tap or zoom into a parcel to see its boundary against roads and parks. Plots that back onto green belts or face a park are highlighted by their position relative to the open-space parcels.
